Certificate in Christian Leadership

Calvin Seminary Certificate Program

Acquiring a seminary certificate is a trusted way to advance your ministry skills and effectiveness. Calvin’s Certificate in Christian Leadership is an intensive, high-caliber program designed to challenge and transform students and grow their theological and biblical knowledge.

Calvin values a holistic approach to education that incorporates classroom learning as well as immersive ministry training and development of character and faith. We’ve created a haven for our students to flourish individually and in Christian community. We cultivate and nurture meaningful journeys for seminary students as they follow God’s calling for them.

A seminary certificate is designed for students who don’t want to pursue a full seminary degree. Certificate students can specialize in an area of their interest and gain knowledge that will help them on their ministry path.

How to Apply

Frequently Asked Questions

Certificate vs. Degree: What’s the Difference?

Much like a seminary degree, a seminary certificate can show expertise and knowledge in an area, increasing chances of employment and skills in ministry. A seminary certificate focused on Bible instruction, for example, could help someone pursuing a career in Christian education, or it could help someone who wants to take their volunteer Bible study leadership to the next level.

A seminary certificate is a great option for someone who wants to further their education but doesn’t want to commit to the length or cost of a multi-year seminary degree. The option to get a seminary degree is always available after getting a certificate if a student decides they want to further their seminary education.

Does Calvin Offer Financial Aid?

Yes! We offer financial aid and scholarships to make seminary education accessible to those who want to attend Calvin but have limited resources. Federal student aid pays for some certificate programs.

Are Credits Transferable?

Yes, credits do transfer to a full degree program at Calvin Theological Seminary, where applicable. Browse our academic catalog for more academic options and their course requirements.

How Long Does a Certificate Take to Complete?

Our seminary certificate program can vary greatly in how long it takes to complete, as everyone can learn at their own pace. The average completion time is one to three years.
