Justo González is one of the world’s leading theologians, and a prominent voice in calling the global church to recognize the presence and perspectives of Latino and Latina Christians. In this conversation, he and Mariano Avila reflect on their experiences as Latino scholars, examine recent social changes in North American Christianity, and imagine the future of Latino theological education.

Justo González has taught at the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico and Candler School of Theology, Emory University. He is the author of many books, including Church History: An Essential Guide and To All Nations From All Nations.

Mariano Avila is professor of New Testament and director of the Certificate in Latino Ministry at Calvin Seminary.

Luis Lugo is former professor of political science at Calvin College and former director of the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion and Public Life.
