Worship Arts Degree Programs in Seminary

Master of Arts in Christian Leadership

Pursuing the Calvin Theological Seminary’s worship concentration of the MA in Christian Leadership program is one way of following your calling to lead worship. You will be trained in forming and nurturing worship communities, and you’ll have the opportunity to take worship electives that best fit your vocational goals. You will also participate in a contextual learning placement to gain further experience and reflect on your work in the area of worship arts.

Master of Theology

You may also consider Calvin Theological Seminary’s Master of Theology (ThM) program. This is a great option if you’ve already earned a Master of Divinity or Master of Theological Studies degree, as having one of these degrees is a prerequisite for the ThM program. This program is for you if you are looking for academic mastery in a specific field of ministry, such as worship. Use your gifts in both the worship arts and academic thought to make your learning come alive in this advanced program.

Doctor of Ministry (DMin)

The Calvin Theological Seminary Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program is an excellent way to pursue questions of worship within the concentrations of homiletics, urban ministry & prophetic method, spiritual formation & missional leadership, or a general track. Certificate in Christian Leadership

For professionals who are not seeking a worship degree but would benefit from the credentials of a certificate, the worship concentration of Certificate in Christian Leadership program can be an effective and efficient learning option. Earn your credentials more quickly through a certificate program, connecting you with expert professors and ministry peers through a streamlined learning program.

Some schools offer both on campus and online options for seminary worship degrees. Calvin Theological Seminary offers the following course delivery options, based on degree:

  • Master of Arts in Christian Leadership worship concentration: On-campus, fully online, or hybrid
  • Master of Theology (ThM), worship concentration: On-campus only
  • Doctor of Ministry: Hybrid only
  • Certificate of Christian Leadership, worship concentration: On-campus, fully online, or hybrid

To take your bachelor’s learning a step further, consider attending seminary to earn a graduate-level worship arts degree. Another level of theological understanding, worship training, and guided experience can be beneficial in meeting your goals as a worship leader.
