Transfer Credit

On an individual basis, Calvin Theological Seminary may permit transfer of graduate level courses from another accredited institution.

Students in the first degree programs may transfer no more than 50% of their CTS program from another institution, and no more than 50% of a completed program from another institution.

Master of Theology students may transfer one course from another institution.

Ordinarily, students will submit a request for transfer credit within their first year of studies. At minimum, a course description is required for each course considered for transfer credit. A syllabus for each course is preferred.

The request will be submitted to the Registrar, who will make a recommendation to the Associate Academic Dean. The Associate Academic Dean will make the final determination of what transfer credit is accepted.

Applicants and students seeking transfer credit in Biblical Hebrew must complete a Hebrew language placement examination, administered by the Old Testament Department.
