The New Covenant
In the center is the Herodian Temple, connecting the Old and the New Testaments. It is the focal point from which all the linear perspective lines are drawn. The color scheme is that of the old Tabernacle: red, blue and purple. In the foreground are the bowl and the towel of the foot washing.
And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” Matthew 26:26-28
