Elizabeth Steele Halstead

Continuing Education Events Manager
B.A. (Calvin College, 1985)
M.A. (Fuller Theological Seminary, 1990)

Elizabeth (Betsy) Steele Halstead manages the planning and implementation of the continuing education events which take place on campus and in other locations. Betsy graduated from Calvin College with a double major in art and psychology. She went on to earn her M.A in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. Her role in the continuing education office allows Betsy to articulate her interests:

"My areas of interest include encouraging life-long learning for leaders and laity of the church, and interdisciplinary studies, with particular focus on the integration of theology and the arts."

Betsy's day to day responsibilities include communicating with churches, guest speakers and lecturers. She also produces brochures and advertisement for the continuing education office and events. Betsy's role in the continuing education office allows her to participate in the life of the seminary as coordinator of visual arts for the chapel, and a member of the website team. Betsy also serves as the Resource Development Specialist for Visual Arts for the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship.

Betsy's husband, Scott, works at Pine Rest Christian Hospital as a neuropsychologist. They have one son, Timothy, who is a student at Grand Rapids Christian High School. Betsy's hobbies include oil painting, woodcuts, and reading.
