Amy Vander Slik

Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Receptionist
BFA (Kendall College of Art and Design, 1993)

Amy Vander Slik has worked at Calvin Theological Seminary since August 1998. Her day to day activities include helping students and visitors at her desk window, delivering mail, making and keeping track of room reservations and entering information on the website calendar. She also does a variety of work for the Vice President for Academic Affairs, which includes everything from administering course evaluation materials to distributing scholarship information. Amy enjoys working in an academic environment and interacting with students, and she values the opportunities she has to participate in seminary life, such as singing in the choir and attending chapel services.

"The best part about my job is seeing the transition made from students running down the hall with back packs full of homework, trying to make it to class, to worship leaders, teachers, pastors.it's a fascinating process to watch! God does some amazing work among us - and I am honored to be a part of it."

Amy was born and raised in Grand Rapids and is the youngest of three siblings. She enjoys playing and watching a variety of sports, and particularly enjoys watching Red Wing hockey. An interesting fact which demonstrates Amy's love for hockey is that she once met and got her picture taken with hockey legend Gordie Howe at his restaurant in Traverse City, MI. Amy also enjoys walking, learning to play the piano, traveling, and spending time with her friends and nieces.
