A huge thanks to all of you who have offered feedback on the CTS website redesign. Thanks to you, we’ve made a lot of progress and we’re almost ready to launch the new site. A few points we want to note:
1. Constructive feedback → tangible improvements: We’re hard pressed to think of a single critical remark that wasn’t also very helpful (which says a lot about our community). The vast majority of them have led to actual changes (e.g., a jazzier slider/carousel on the front page, insertion of social media buttons, reduced size of those buttons, front page fits single screen on most resolutions minus footer contents, return of the grey background, etc.).
2. Planned for Phase 2, after the launch: Rest assured that we’re not done. There were some excellent suggestions we couldn’t implement due to lack of time and/or technical difficulties (e.g., search bar is slightly off in Firefox, need for a better navigation bar, need for more photos of actual CTS people, a more meaningful/comprehensive intro to CTS on the slider, etc.). We plan to implement these in the future. There is also more content we need to migrate, including our Lecture Archive. Some of this will take more time than others. We thank you for your patience.
3. Share a story with us! Please note the “Share” link at the top of the website next to the social media buttons. Please use that link to submit a story, announcement, photos, anything to post on the website.
Most respondents seemed to like the redesign, with no objections to abandoning the earlier design, so we’re in the final stretch now. As we move forward, we will continue to listen to your input. So please feel free to share them with us using this form below.
